Construction Continues

Still making updates to the site, but things are moving along here in Stem land. The past few days I have been mixing some of our practices like crazy so I have a steady stream of free material just waiting in line. I have also been working on just making the site better overall.

There is still a lot of work to do here obviously and It is far from complete. I have some nice fancy buttons to design as well as making an organized structure so people can preview the album before they buy it, And also have access to our free demos. Currently there are two free demos, Home grown classics, and Keep your ear to the door vol. 1. Which is collection of jams and other one offs like the stuff I have been posting thus far.

Working on getting photos up in here is well so you can see our smiling faces. There is a lot to do, so im going to get back to work on making this site kick ass.

Don’t Let Me Down

June 27, 2008 - Posted in Jams, Music No Comments

Here is yet another tasty reggae jam. A long one running around 14 minutes long. The majority of the jam is at a steady medium pace. My favorite part is the Bassline, surprise surprise, but if you listen with headphones on you can here a pretty nasty lick (not that I pat my self on the back or anything). Matt Smiths guitar melody between the vocals is incredibly perfect, which compliments the sickest vocal melody I’ve ever heard in jam of ours.

The end of the song is rather kick ass as it goes into a long soulful guitar solo and then ends with extreme in your face Rock n Roll awesomeness!
F*&%king sweet stuff for sure….

I think we try and turn this tune into a song, let us know what you think.

Rocking Rhode Island Wheelhouse

June 24, 2008 - Posted in Stories from the Road 1 Comment

Still recovering from our run down to RI at the Wheelhouse Tavern. Quite the awesome time. We rocked some new tunes including Punani Nani, Son of the Devil, and Alone. We Also rocked some old favorites such as Lord Don’t Givith, Shake it, Down in the Water, What you Get, and This Sleep . Ila Mawana played Some new tunes as well, they were pretty awesome.

Also our old friend Chris Sturk showed up to show as well. which was awesome because we haven’t seen him since we recorded the CD back. In case no one knows Chris Sturk, he is the raunchiest man alive. You can check him out here.

By this picture you can tell he is clearly not the type of man you would trust with your kids. But he is awesome to hang out with, so long as you don’t have kids.

We ended up crashing at a friends place, who were awesome enough to make us breakfast. They also had a cute kitten who cuddled under my leg, and then decided to claw my feet at 4, 5, and then 6 am. Sleeping in the van on my way back up was needed. Being hungover and loading all the equipment back in the practice space was rough, and definitely no fun

This Site is still underway and we will keep making updates as we get to them. well be launching the store soon. As well getting a lot more jams up here for your listening pleasure.

Slidey McSlidester

So we Jam a lot, and when I say a lot, i really do mean a lot. In fact we tend to play at least one song a set that is entirely improvised. It keeps things fresh for us, and if we do it right it doesn’t suck for everyone else. So we are going to Start Showcasing our jams on this blog. So hopefully every week will have a new tune for you listening pleasure.

This Jam is instrumental track featuring aj on a lapsteel guitar. this was his first lap steel that got stolen in NY after a gig at the Annex back in January. So this tune is from 2007. The riff started with something Matt smith was playing, a very bluesy rock style. Butler then hit record and started in with a Kick drum. Aj then finishes tunning and joins in. I fade the song in, and if you listen you hear aj doing the last bit of tuning and then getting started.

Hope you Enjoy it. more to follow
